MedCERTAIN IPR / Agreements (sketch)

• Software / technology: based on a remains Free Software (GNU Public License and/or Mozilla Public License)
• Online services: collaboratively run, not for profit; goal is marketplace creation, partner affiliates might use data feed
• Data: complex... need open license encouraging re-use, aggregation and dissemination of metadata (OpenDir?)
• Ongoing management of the metadata vocabulary (Heidelburg Collab., DCMI etc?)
• Brand / logo / domain names / etc: discussion needed about 'fair use';
• Relationship to host institutions: complex, but bound by terms of EU funding, existing rights etc
• Privacy policy: need for clarity before collecting significant data
• Need statement of intent and common understanding: brand must remain 'pure', platform open, data freely distributable.
• Exit strategies: at end of project, what do we have of value? data, tools, brand, trust, services, users, raters, vocabulary...
