ILRT is proud to have achieved silver in the University of Bristol's Green Impact Awards. The award (made from recycled materials) was presented to Sarah Agarwal and ILRT Director Dr Lesly Huxley by Deputy Vice Chancellor David Clarke at a recent awards ceremony.
ILRT has championed environmental and community initiatives for many years, consolidated recently with new Corporate Social Responsibility and Travel and Transport policies.
The University of Bristol's Sustainability Department devised the Green Impact Awards in order to offer a practical way of helping departments become greener. The Awards offered a challenge to departments to implement a number of practical actions to help the environment, leading to a bronze, silver or gold award according to the number of actions completed. Green Impact aims were to encourage, reward and celebrate all actions to improve Bristol's environmental credentials, however small.
An announcement of all the winners was made in a University press release on 22nd May. There were 46 entries overall, with just seven silver award winners and three gold.
