Further information about our R&D work is available on the Web Futures website.

Examples of our work:

MCA

Mobile Campus Assistant
Mobile Campus Assistant makes time and location sensitive information available to students via their mobiles and location-aware smart phones. For example, where is the nearest available PC? Where is the nearest wireless hotspot? What events are happening today? When is the next bus to the hall of residence? Which library is open now?

STARS

Semantic Tools for Screen Arts Research
Semantic Tools for Screen Arts Research (STARS) is a web-based resource that enables people to explore, search, play, select, annotate, tag and re-use online video. STARS is a collaboration with the Department of Drama: Theatre, Film, Television and Watershed's dShed.

SubSift

SubSift: Submission Sifting
SubSift matches submitted conference or journal papers to potential peer reviewers based on their similarity to published works of prospective reviewers in online bibliographic databases, such as Google Scholar. SubSift is a collaboration with the Intelligent Systems Laboratory and is part of the University's Exabyte Informatics Research Theme.
